COLUMBIA — Before the Class AAAA girls state basketball game against Dutch Fork, Greenwood High School guard Tianna Swearinger said she was not going to lose and that she was going to give everything she had to help the Eagles claim the title.
And the junior guard did just that.
Swearinger terrorized Dutch Fork in the second half, pouring in 24 of her 30 points. She nearly carried the Eagles all the way back from a 20-point halftime deficit, dragging them within one on three different occasions.

But the Silver Foxes held off Swearinger and the hard-charging Eagles, escaping Colonial Life Arena with a 62-55 victory.
"I took it upon myself to put the team on my back," Swearinger said. "Like I said (before the game), I'm not going to lose. I'm going to give it all I got, I know I'm going to give it all I got. That's all I could do."
