NINETY SIX -- Wide smiles and half-hidden smirks adorned the faces of many of the 119 Ninety Six High School students taking their positions at the school's graduation ceremony Thursday night. Some glanced into the audience, some waved to a family member or friend.
Steeped in tradition, the ceremony began with a rendition of the school's concert band performing Edward Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance" during the processional.

District Superintendent Mark Petersen led the pack, followed by faculty and administrators, and finally students as they made their way to the front rows facing the stage.
Valedictorian Danielle Ballentine and salutatorian Sean Anthony Wyatt Hart addressed their fellow graduates.
