Longtime Greenwood County Councilman Gonza Bryant signed a consent order with the South Carolina Ethics Commission acknowledging he “inadvertently” and “unintentionally” committed ethics violations in connection with various statements of economic interest.
The Index-Journal obtained a copy of the consent order earlier this week. The document is signed by Bryant and was stamped by the Ethics Commission on Dec. 11.
With the order, the Ethics Commission issued a “written warning” to Bryant. The councilman also paid an administrative fee of $200.
Bryant was the last of four current or former Greenwood County Council members to sign consent orders with the Ethics Commission. As previously reported, Council members Robbie Templeton and Edith Childs, along with former Council member Patrick Moody, signed consent orders in 2013 and each was ordered to pay $200 in administrative fees or restitution.
