Local Democrats got a little political talk with their coffee and eggs on Saturday morning.
The Greenwood County Democratic Party had its regular breakfast meeting Saturday at Ryan’s. The party welcomed several candidates for office, both local and statewide.
On the local level, District 3 Greenwood County Councilman Gonza Bryant and District 12 state Rep. Anne Parks offered remarks. Bryant is unopposed in his council bid this year, while Parks is set to face general election opposition from Republican challenger Tony Wideman.

Meanwhile, U.S. House Third District candidate Barbara Jo Mullis also was in attendance at Saturday’s meeting. Mullis will face competition from Hosea Cleveland in the Democratic primary. The winner of that primary will move on to face incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan in the general election.
