Tebo created barbecue signage for a show at Howard’s on Main for July to tie into the South Carolina Festival of Discovery barbecue competition and Greenwood Blues Cruise, which starts its three-day run today.
“I love signs. I always have,” Tebo said. “When you’re a little kid and you’re traveling ... We traveled and camped. I looked at all the signs. You don’t find that anymore. They were pieces of art. Now everything is so cookie box and not the art that it was. I really love it.”
There is a free artist reception 5:30-7 p.m. today at Howard’s on Main, which is one of the venues for the Blues Cruise. The artist of the month for July has six signs in the exhibit and all are for sale.
It was Dohnna Boyajian, who coordinates the art on display at Howard’s on Main, who suggested Tebo make something for the barbecue festival.
