And the Panthers did, capitalizing on three Wildcat errors to score four runs.
It also helped to have Travis New on the mound.
The senior pitcher pitched a complete-game shutout, spreading out seven hits, four walks and a hit-batsman to go along with five strikeouts to give Abbeville the 4-0 win.
"This is a huge win," New said. "They've had our number the last couple years, and we finally got a win on them."
The Panthers jumped on Ninety Six early, plating two runs in the bottom of the second inning. After an error and an infield single put two runners on, the ninth batter in Abbeville's lineup, Tucker Smith, hammered a double over Wildcat left fielder Brandon Pruitt's head to give New and Abbeville the 2-0 lead.
