Two more John de la Howe School affiliates have sunk into the abyss.
Board of trustees chairwoman Jan Duncan and vice chairwoman Rosalind Neal each sent resignation letters to Gov. Nikki Haley, interim school president Danny Webb confirmed Tuesday.
Last week, Duncan illegally polled other board members, and the board proceeded to institute Webb as interim president without a board meeting.
The action blatantly disregarded the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, South Carolina Press Association attorney Jay Bender said Friday.
Duncan, however, seemed unaware of the board's legal transgression.
"It was a board action, but it did not call for a board meeting," Duncan said.
Several days earlier, Duncan went through great pains to emphasize the board's commitment to the school's students.
