One woman was hospitalized following a boat wreck on Lake Greenwood during the weekend.
The crash occurred sometime after 8 p.m. Saturday near T Roy's Landing in Cross Hill, according to officials from the Department of Natural Resources. DNR Capt. Robert McCullough said the collision involved a deck boat, which hit a seawall and went up into a lakeshore backyard at the marina. No alcohol was involved in the wreck, he noted.
A Ninety Six man and his wife were on board the vessel at the time of the crash. The female occupant suffered a broken collarbone and was transported by EMS to Self Regional Medical Center to be treated.
Her condition as of Monday was unknown.
The driver of the boat, Orville Burton, was cited by DNR for improper lookout, McCullough said. He noted both passengers were in their mid to late 50s.
