Bond was set Tuesday for a Greenwood suspect in a 2013 fatal shooting along Meadow Street.
Dwayne Sanders, 26, of 1420 E. Cambridge Ave., stood before Circuit Court Judge Thomas Hughston during a hearing inside the Greenwood County Courthouse. Hughston set Sanders’ bond at $200,000 cash or surety.
Sanders was arrested Oct. 1, 2013 and has remained behind bars ever since. He faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in connection with a March 23, 2013 shooting that left Tremayne Demon Turner, a 30-year-old Greenwood man, dead with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Sanders was one of two suspects arrested last October after being linked to Turner’s death. His co-defendant, 24-year-old Greenwood native Eric Carlisle, was arrested on the same day and faces the same charges. Tuesday marked Sanders’ second petition to have bail set. Circuit Court Judge Donald Hocker denied his first request during a bond hearing in January.
