Officers arrested a man after he allegedly wielded a box cutter and a machete during an argument.
Greenwood Police arrested Ronald Keith Attaway, 58, of 716 Truett Ave., Greenwood, and charged him with drawing a weapon in affray.
According to a police incident reports, officers responded Wednesday evening to a home on Truett Avenue in reference to the incident. The first alleged victim in the incident indicated he lived at the residence, but was moving out and came to the residence to retrieve his cat.
The first victim said, when he arrived at the home, the suspect came out on the porch with a red and black box cutter and said, "Come on mother (expletive)."
The second victim corroborated the first victim's account, noting the suspect came out on the porch waving a box cutter and "yelling and cussing."
The report said officers also spoke to a witness who said, just before the alleged victims arrived, the suspect came out of the house and told the witness "I'll kill you mother (expletive) if you come over here."
The witness reportedly told officers he knows the suspect, but said he had nothing to do with the problems between the suspect and the alleged victims.
Officers spoke with the suspect. According to the report, he said he did pull out a box cutter while standing on the front porch.
The report said officers went with the suspect to his bedroom and retrieved the box cutter. When they asked the suspect about the machete, he allegedly said, "It's in here somewhere." Officers did not find the machete.
The suspect was taken to Greenwood County Detention Center.
