Harry Irick and the Ware Shoals Police Department will likely stay right where they are.
The Ware Shoals Town Council planning and zoning committee— also known as the properties committee — voted 3-0 to recommend that the Ware Shoals Police Department remain at its current building at 38 E. Main St.
The recommendation will face a vote at the Feb. 18 town council meeting.
"We're happy here, we're proud to be here," Irick said of the vote.  "All of my officers like it here, we've got everything we need."

The police building at 38 Main St. was discussed as a possible additional facility for the Ware Shoals Fire Department. Ware Shoals Fire Chief Rodney Boyter said the department ran out of space.
A proposal to move the police department to the Ware Shoals Town Hall was met with resistance by Irick.
