The trial date for Abbeville County Fire Chief Neal Dickenson was moved back Wednesday. Dickenson was charged with disorderly conduct following a large fight in the bleachers of a football game in Woodruff last year during the second week of the season.
His attorney stood before a Spartanburg County Magistrate Court judge during a brief hearing Wednesday afternoon at the Spartanburg County Courthouse. The judge reset the trial for an undetermined date.
Dickenson was one of three people arrested in connection with the Aug. 30 brawl at an Abbeville High School road game. His two co-defendants pleaded guilty to their charges in September. Court documents showed Dickenson pleaded not guilty and was scheduled to have a jury trial begin Wednesday. His lawyer said the proceeding was simply a roll call to update the case and reset a trial date.
