A Greenwood man was arrested Monday following reports of a fight in the Plowden neighborhood that apparently stemmed from unmet demands for sex.
Jonathan Fisher, 50, was charged with third-degree assault and battery and drawing weapon in affray in connection with the incident.
The fight touched off about 9:45 p.m. Monday along Plowden Avenue.
According to a Greenwood police report, the victim told officers the suspect had been sending her texts all day Monday, asking her to come to his residence and have sex with him. When those requests were denied, she said the man showed up at her doorstep.
The woman and multiple witnesses said the suspect began choking the victim, then grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground. The man then charged the woman with a knife and chased her around the yard with it until someone called the police. At some point during the scuffle, according to witnesses, the suspect punched a second victim in the face.
Police located the man walking on Highside Street and he admitted to choking the victim, but denied a knife was involved. Officers found a pocket knife lying in the roadway near where the suspect was apprehended, and the blade had a piece of the man's shirt on it.
