Greenwood man charged in alleged grocery store robbery

A man thought to be involved in a January holdup at a Hispanic grocery store was arrested Tuesday.
Kelsey Watson, 31, of 129 N. Hospital St., Greenwood, was charged with armed robbery, pointing and presenting a firearm at a person and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection with the incident.
The armed robbery took place about 8:15 p.m. Jan. 30 at Los Dos Amigos, 718 Chipley Ave.
According to a Greenwood police report:
The suspect entered the store, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a bandana covering his face, pointed a handgun at one of the clerks behind the counter and demanded money from the cash register. When the victim opened the till, he reached over the counter, grabbed cash from the register and witnesses reported he fled the scene on foot heading eastbound.
