Greenwood police arrested a man Wednesday following reports of a domestic dispute that occurred last month in south Greenwood.
Royshun Clark, 28, of 806 Gage St., Greenwood, was charged with criminal domestic violence and assault and battery in connection with the incident.
Police officers were dispatched to the suspect's home March 17 and found several people running around the front yard of the residence screaming and crying. According to a city police report:
A 12-year-old boy in the yard was holding a rag to his head. When the juvenile removed the rag, officers saw a swollen cut on his forehead. A woman standing on the front porch with tears in her shirt was screaming for help to get two babies out of a locked car parked in front of the house. A neighbor then busted out a back window and was able to secure the children.
The victims told officers an argument turned physical, and the suspect pushed the woman, then punched her. When the victim's son tried to intervene, the suspect punched him on the side of the head. The attack spilled onto the front porch where the suspect destroyed a phone the boy was using to call police. The man then went back into the residence and took $1,800 in cash from her pocketbook and fled the scene. Before leaving, the man began to take the car parked in front of the house, but changed his mind and locked the two babies in the vehicle.
