One man was arrested Wednesday after reports of an attack that involved a pistol whipping and death threats earlier this month.
Deterrious Edwards, 24, of 202 Iroquois Drive, Greenwood, was charged with first-degree assault and battery and pointing and presenting a firearm at a person in connection with the incident.
The victim told officers the suspect showed up at his job on Rock Church Road the afternoon of March 14, and began arguing with him. According to a Greenwood County incident report:
After the suspect struck the man, the two began fighting and the suspect produced a pistol and used it to hit the victim in the head.
The suspect then pointed the pistol at the man and told him he would kill him if he ever heard about him being around his children or "baby's mother." As he was fleeing the scene, still pointing the gun at the victim, the suspect said, "I will kill you and that (expletive) if you go to the police."
