A Greenwood man was arrested early Sunday morning following reports of a home invasion.
Tymon Carter, 24, of 239 Hardwood Loop, was charged with first-degree burglary and malicious injury to personal property in connection with the incident.
Officers responded to an apartment along East Durst Avenue following reports the suspect was attempting to kick in the front door.
According to a Greenwood police report, the victim told officers she and a male heard sounds at the rear of the residence and someone then began kicking the door. The two ran to a bedroom, and the female victim said someone began kicking her bedroom door in, noting the suspect attempted to grab her as she held the door shut. She indicated the suspect called and texted her prior to the incident, saying he was coming to the residence, and she told him not to come.
One of the victims and a witness identified the suspect as the intruder, and officers located him walking along Cokesbury Street, where they arrested him. An in-car camera on one of the officer's patrol vehicles showed the suspect walk past the squad car, then look back at the residence and laughed, moments after the first responding officer entered the residence.
