Greenwood County narcotics agents arrested one man following a drug raid Monday afternoon.
Howard Coleman Jr., 40, of 304 W. Creswell Ave., was charged with distribution of a controlled substance within proximity of a school and simple possession of marijuana in connection with the incident.
Officers executed a search warrant at the suspect's home just before noon.
According to Greenwood police reports:
Agents from the county's Drug Enforcement Unit set up a controlled buy, using a confidential informant earlier this month. Agents used surveillance to capture the CI purchasing 3.5 grams of a substance thought to be marijuana from the suspect at his home.
Officers found 5.1 grams of the suspected drug in the suspect's home during Monday's search, as well as a marijuana grinder, a set of digital scales, a smoking device, and several pills.
