Two people are facing prostitution charges following a Thursday morning meeting interrupted by Greenwood police.
Jessica Lynn Blackmon, 22, of 305 Singleton Court, Greenwood, was charged with prostitution.
Robert Shane Morgan, 38, of 2256 River Fork, Waterloo, was charged with solicitation of prostitution.
According to a Greenwood Police Department report, agents with the Greenwood Drug Enforcement Unit saw the female suspect standing around in a church parking lot about 12:30 a.m. Thursday. The report said agents received complaints from residents about her prostituting out of her residence behind the church.
They then saw the male suspect in a burgundy Ford approach her, and she got into his car. Agents followed the pair to a store on Gilliam Avenue and New Market Street, where the female suspect made a purchase. Agents then followed the car to the woman's residence where agents got out and met with them.
According to the report, the man admitted to officers he met with the woman for sex and he offered $20 for it. He said they didn't do anything because they were interrupted by the police. The woman denied prostituting and said the male suspect was looking for another woman.
The two were arrested and brought to city hall for processing. There, the woman said the male suspect was there to buy crack and not sex. Both suspects were given a courtesy summons and released.
