A Greenwood teen faces charges following a reported home invasion in the Mill Pond subdivision during the weekend.
Detrick Morton, 17, of 126 Balsam Lane, was charged with first-degree burglary in connection with the incident.
The victims told officers they left the home early the morning of March 28 to go to Las Vegas and returned Sunday night. That's when they found their home on Vintage Court ransacked. According to a city police report:
Officers found every drawer in the home opened, pictures in the master bedroom taken off the walls and mattress overturned. A living room window was busted out and a brick lay on the floor inside the house just beneath the window. Officers thought that was the point of entry for the theft.
The victims told police two televisions, a Nintendo Wii, a Sony PlayStation, three DVD players, a pair of Air Jordan's gym shoes and a bottle of cologne were taken during the burglary. Police developed a suspect after further investigating the incident. The suspect was questioned by officers Wednesday and implicated himself in the burglary.
