A Greenwood woman was arrested Tuesday following a civil dispute and reports she threatened her husband with a gun.
Mary Carolyn St. Clair, 67, of 509 Marshall Road, was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature in connection with the incident.
Greenwood police were called to the couple's residence about 7:30 p.m. According to a Greenwood police report, a suspect said she and the victim are in the process of getting a divorce and had been arguing all day about a financial matter. She noted he called her a derogatory name during the altercation.
The victim told officers he'd had spinal surgery in February which caused him to have limited mobility. He said he was sitting in a recliner at the time of the argument, during which he called her a "lying (expletive)" several times. He said the last time he called her that name, she left the room and returned moments later brandishing a pistol. She pointed the gun at him and said, "If you call me a (expletive) again, I'll shoot you."
Police recovered the weapon, a .22-caliber Taurus PT-22, inside a nightstand dresser in the woman's bedroom. The weapon was loaded with a round in the chamber and seven more rounds in its clip.
