Greenwood County deputies arrested a hammer-wielding Greenwood man following a domestic dispute early Sunday morning.
Hunter Canfield, 38, of 206 Pitts Circle, Greenwood, was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature in connection with the incident.
Deputies responded to the suspect's home along Pitts Circle just after 4 a.m. and heard yelling inside. Officers went inside and found the man standing in the backyard of the residence holding a beer can.
According to a Greenwood County incident report, the victim said he lived at the house until two weeks ago. She said he returned Sunday morning, and beat on the front door until she answered. When she opened the door, he chased her through the house with a hammer. She said he began hitting a bedroom door with the hammer and kicking it as well.
