A Hodges teenager was arrested after narcotics officers found several bags of marijuana Wednesday night at the Phoenix Place Apartments.
Christopher Calhoun, 17, of 211 Cromer Road, Hodges, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana in connection with the incident.
Agents from Greenwood County's Drug Enforcement Unit were on patrol in the south Greenwood apartment complex just after 9 p.m. when they spotted the suspect, who they knew to be on trespass notice there.
According to a Greenwood police report, agents stopped the man to question him and noticed a large bulge in the left pocket of his shorts. Agents inquired what was in the man's pockets, and he said it was his cellphone. Officers noted the suspect was holding his cellphone in his hand, to which he replied, "Oh (expletive)."
Agents then searched the man and found a bag that contained 38 individually wrapped packages of a substance thought to be marijuana in his pocket. The suspected drug weighed a total of 44 grams.
