Lander University student faces sexual misconduct charge

A Greenwood man was arrested Wednesday following reports of a sexual assault last weekend involving two Lander University students.
Hunter Coker, 21, of 208 Elk Lane, was charged with first-degree criminal sexual misconduct in connection with the incident.
Officers encountered the victim at Self Regional Medical Center, where she was admitted during the early morning hours Jan. 17 and underwent treatment and completed a sexual assault evidence collection kit. According to a Greenwood police report, the alleged incident took place between midnight and 1 a.m. that day at a house party on East Kirksey Avenue. The victim's roommate said she dropped several of their friends off at home and returned to the party, where she found the victim walking outside distraught.
