A McCormick County woman faces multiple charges following a drunken encounter with Greenwood police earlier this week.
Lisa Marshall, 39, of Plum Branch, was charged with assault and battery, public drunk and resisting arrest in connection with the Christmas Eve incident.
Police responded to an apartment along Trakas Avenue late Tuesday morning and found the suspect standing on the front porch yelling at her mother. According to a Greenwood police report, the mother said the two began arguing, and she told the woman to leave. The suspect then went outside and began yelling, which caused a scene, the mother told officers. Police noted a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the suspect, and observed her to exhibit several indicators she was intoxicated. When police arrested her for being publicly drunk, the woman grew combative and began trying to run back into the apartment. At one point, she spit in one of the officers' chest. At another point, she began screaming, "I've been to prison three times, and I don't care if you lock me up."
The suspect continued to ignore several of the officers' orders, and began kicking a rear window when police placed her in a patrol car. Officers eventually used pepper spray to subdue the woman.
