A pair of Greenwood men were arrested Wednesday following a report of sexual impropriety with a teenage girl.
Roger Brown, 24, of 303 Margaret St., was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and Travis Brown, 21, of the same address, was charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with the incident.
Investigators said they think the sexual misconduct began as early as March. The victim's mother notified police May 25 after family members found a conversation time stamped from March 10 on the 12-year-old girl's Facebook page that indicated she was touched intimately by a 24-year-old man. According to a Greenwood police report:
Officers questioned the victim, and she told them the two suspects - described as brothers in the report - were close to her and her younger brother at one point, saying the two families had a close relationship and visited each others' homes often. The teen said the older brother began hugging her more passionately, touching inappropriately and propositioning her for sex a few months ago.
She told officers the younger suspect propositioned her for sex one night while they were watching a movie at his house, and she consented. She said the two began having intercourse, and it didn't feel right, so she told him to stop. When the suspect stopped, he pleaded with her not to tell anyone because he did not want to get into trouble, she told police.
