NINETY SIX — As temperatures dipped, churches in Ninety Six and surrounding areas gathered at The Depot for a community blessing Saturday evening.
Bobby Davis, pastor of 17 years at Bethlehem Union, moderated the ceremony.
The blessing, in its first year, is the offspring of Prayer in the Park, an outdoor prayer session that occurred regularly from June through October last year.
Davis said the purpose of the gathering was "to come together in the town of Ninety Six and to honor the community."
He said motto of the night was for the Bible to be the "lamp to our feet and the light to our path."
Davis began the evening with a prayer, followed by a set from the band, Soul Revival.
The band played timeless Christian classics including "Be Ready, Be Willing," "Get On Board," and "Ain't No Love," among others.
The crowd quickly became enthralled, clapping and singing along with the band.
