Republican Third District U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan currently is serving his second term in the House of Representative.
He is now hoping voters will send him back to Washington for a third term.
Duncan formally filed Tuesday to seek re-election in the Third District. Partisan primary elections are set for June 10, with runoffs June 24, if necessary. The general election is Nov. 4.
The Third District includes all or part of a host of counties in the northwestern part of the Upstate, including all four counties in the Lakelands area (Greenwood, Abbeville, McCormick and Saluda).
Duncan is a graduate of Ware Shoals High School and Clemson University. He has lived in Laurens County for many years. Prior to serving in the U.S. House, Duncan was a member of the S.C. House of Representatives for eight years.
Duncan’s wife, Melody, is a Greenwood County native. They have three sons.
