Greenwood County deputies arrested a former Walmart employee Friday for the second time in two weeks in reference to an investigation of theft at the retail store.
Jason Aiken, 25, of 209 W. Creswell Ave., Greenwood, was charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent in connection with the incident. He was arrested Feb. 10 in connection with the investigation and initially charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent less than $2,000. Deputies upgraded that fraud charge to greater than $2,000, less than $10,000 after discovering more stolen items during the course of the investigation.
According to a Greenwood County incident report, video surveillance showed a man take four televisions - totaling $2,022 - from the stockroom and out of a "buggy bay" near a closed section of the store. Subsequent to that arrest, Walmart security reviewed surveillance footage and discovered the suspect stole on six different occasions from Jan. 20 to Feb. 8, getting at least $6,445 worth of merchandise during those incidents. The suspects was arrested following questioning Friday.
