A Ware Shoals man is in custody following a domestic incident Wednesday.
Joseph Brewington, 35, was arrested on charges of third-degree assault and criminal domestic violence.
According to a Ware Shoals Police Department:
On Wednesday, an argument escalated between the suspect and a juvenile victim. The suspect began hitting the juvenile victim with his fist. The adult victim attempted to stop the altercation, but the suspected punched and slapped her in the face, knocking her to the floor.
Eventually the suspect began looking for his shoes and demanded the juvenile tell him where his shoes were. When the juvenile victim said the shoes were not "his to keep up with," the suspect struck him again. Upon recovering his shoes, the suspect left in his vehicle, taking a laptop computer, clothing and a 12-gauge shotgun.
The adult victim had bruises on her left cheek, and the juvenile victim had a "swollen and busted lip" and a small cut under his right arm.
