BRADLEY - Edna Edwards Young, 97, resident of 121 Calabash Road, widow of Robert Carl Young, died November 22, 2012 at Heritage Health Care of Wilkes County, GA.
Born October 24, 1915, in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Bessie Langley Edwards. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and was retired from Riegel Textiles of McCormick. She was a member of the Ladies Aide Society, the Kate Edwards Circle and the Young at Heart of Troy.
She was a member of the Lower Long Cane Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Pauline Y. Bell of Washington, GA; a son, Robert C. Young, Jr. of Bradley; a sister-in-law, Marie Edwards of McCormick; a grandson, Robert C. (Kaurie) Young, III of Bradley; three granddaughters, Renee Young of Bradley and Beth (Jon) Conard and Jennifer (Scott) Cragle, all of Washington, GA; five great-grandchildren, Brook Simpson, Kayla Young, Robert C. Young, IV, Karis Young and Jonathan Conard; and one great-great-grandchild, Kinsey Young.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lower Long Cane Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Mike Horne officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Browne, Melvin Browne, J.P. Long, Homer Sears, Curtis Walker and Will Young. Honorary escort will be the Officers of the Lower Long Cane ARP Church.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The family is at her home on Calabash Road and will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 Saturday evening.
