Evelyn Gilreath Edmunds, 87, widow of Thomas Boyd “Buck” Edmunds, died January 21, 2014 at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab in Edgefield.
Born in Piedmont, SC, July 13, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Willie K. and Edith Hughey Gilreath. Mrs. Edmunds was the former owner of the Grapevine in Greenwood and was a member of West Side Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Susan Edmunds Thompson of Greenwood and Thomas Michael Edmunds of Tuxedo, NC; one granddaughter, Taylor Thompson Carvajal of Greenville; three brothers, Douglas Q. Gilreath of Greenwood, Billy D. Gilreath of Santee and Charles Gilreath; one sister, Patsi Jean Gilreath of Pawley’s Island. She was predeceased by a sister, Wilene Rochester and a brother, Milford Gilreath.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hal Lane officiating.
Private burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon to 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.
