NINETY SIX — Joyce Jackson Saunders “Jackie” Vines, 65, resident of 5317 Highway 178 South, wife of Conway Vines, died March 8, 2014, at Hospice House.
Born February 13, 1949, in Clinton, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Joyce Lester Bourne Saunders and the late George William Saunders. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School in Lexington, KY and held a business degree from Piedmont Technical College. She was retired from Town & Country Property Management.
Mrs. Vines was a member of First Damascus Baptist Church and the Clifford Barrett Sunday School Class of the church. She was also a member of the Auxiliary of the Gideons International, Greenwood Camp and the Community Bible Study.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home and her mother of Greenwood are five daughters, Michelle Land of Callison, Tina Wideman of Greenwood, Mitzi Randall of Callison, Glenda “Becky” Parriman and Sherry Clinkscales, both of Abbeville; a son, Chris Marler of Ninety Six; a brother, Allen Saunders of Greenwood; twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. .Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Carter officiating. Entombment will be in the Oakbrook Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Vines, Kenneth Robbins, Hilton Dodgen, Jr., Rob DuPree, Phillip Adkins and Calhoun Mays, III.
Honorary escort will be the Community Bible Study Core Leaders and members of the Clifford Barrett Sunday School Class.
The family is at the home on Highway 178 South and will receive friends at the funeral home 5 to 8 Sunday evening.
