James Bernard Comiskey Jr., 84, of 1110 Marshall Road, passed into the Light of Heaven on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born September 20, 1929 in Salem, Massachusetts, Jim graduated from Beverly High School, Kimball Union Academy, Meridan, NH and Georgetown University, Washington D.C. where he attended on a football scholarship, and graduated with a degree in Economics.
He served in the United States Air Force on active duty during the Korean War. In 1952 he married Jacqueline Godfrey and the couple was stationed for a short time in Macon, GA before Jim went to Alaska and served as the Supply Officer. He received an honorable discharge.
Following his military service, the couple relocated to Denver, CO, where they started their family. In 1972 the family moved to Foster City, CA. He worked as a salesman for a graphic arts supplier and then for the W.H. Brady Co. until he retired in 1994.  
In 1996, Jim and Jackie relocated to Sun City, Bluffton were they enjoyed making many new friends and became reacquainted with some life-long friends who had also moved to South Carolina. In 2004, Jim and Jackie moved to Wesley Commons in Greenwood, SC and found a wonderful community of friends. His wife passed away in 2008.
After the passing of his wife, Jim was blessed with the love and companionship of Louise Mannion and they happily shared their lives together until Jim's passing.
Jim was known for his warm smile and his friendly demeanor. He is survived by his daughter, Koren.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 8, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 915 Mathis Road at 11 a.m. A Memorial service will be held at Wesley Commons at 2 p.m.  Tuesday Afternoon.
