WARE SHOALS -- Lucille T. Brown triumphantly walked through the gates of heaven to meet her Lord on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. She was born on Christmas Day to the late Robert and Doris Thompson. She was the wife of Sidney Brown, Sr., mother of Sidney "Bo" Brown, Jr. and sister of Clara Thompson and Dean Thompson (Gayle). She was also the aunt of two nephews, Lee Thompson (Kerry) and Robert Thompson (Patrice). She also had a great-nephew (Griffin). She made her home in Ware Shoals, SC, surrounded by the love of the Brown family, most especially her mother-in-law, Betty. Her life was truly enriched by the outpouring of love from this family.
She was a biology and science teacher for 39 years. Her teaching career included Greenwood High School, Emerald High School, Genesis and Piedmont Technical College. She loved teaching. It was more to her than just a job – it was a way for her to reach children and help them learn. She took pride in her work and was always available.
She lived her life recognizing that it was truly a gift from God. She loved people, always finding joy in making a new friend; no one was ever a stranger. She respected people and accepted them for who they were. Always inquisitive, she truly wanted to know about the other person so she would be aware of any needs they might have and that she could fulfill. Even though she has left us for her heavenly home, having known her is a legacy that remains with us.
Always serving mankind while on earth, Lucille has now entered into her heavenly rest to hear the Lord say "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."
