Putting has been a major concern for the Ninety Six High School golf team all season, so last Friday in practice, coach David Duffie had his players work on their putting only on the putting green for nearly an hour.
That practice paid off on Thursday.


Ninety Six shot 157 to beat Abbeville by 33 strokes at Hunter's Creek, the Wildcats' best score of the season by nine shots.
"Putting has really killed us from three to five feet, three to six feet, and (Thursday), collectively, we did well from that distance," Duffie said. "Some of the kids that shot well (Thursday) had been missing those putts, which constitutes three-putting. That's one thing we've harped on.
