Grant Dickey scored 57 goals and added 19 assists last season, accounting for a state-best 133 points.
After guiding his team to 20 wins and the Class AA Upper State final, the Ninety Six High School senior was asked how could he top last season.
Dickey paused after the question to reflect and then had an answer.
"How can I top last season? I don't know," Dickey said. "Maybe, not get knocked out of the playoffs in the Upper State final?"


Hence, with those words, set forth the mission of this year's Wildcats squad which attempts to repeat as Region 2-AA champion — for starters.
After surpassing 100 career goals in the preseason and with 104 before the regular campaign starts Monday, Dickey will be a heavy emphasis for defenders to contain.
But the drive to make another strong postseason run is also motivating Dickey.
