Since Saluda High School won’t be able to play in today’s tri-match involving Greenwood and Emerald at Greenwood Country Club, that leaves the Eagles and Vikings to once again decide which city school has the better golf team.
Emerald got the upper hand April 3 with a team score of 154, which was 9 strokes better than the Eagles in a tri-meet with Hillcrest at the Links at Stoney Point.

While Stoney Point is Greenwood’s home course, Greenwood Country Club is the home course for the Vikings.
That alone could give coach Robin Scott’s team an added sense of comfort when the two teams tee it off around 4 today.
“Normally, when we play, we try to include a team from our region when we play on our home course, and then on Emerald’s home course, when we play, they try to include a team they regularly play as well,” Greenwood coach Chip Whitt said. “But for just our teams to play each other like this, it’s special.”
