Despite going to halftime of Monday’s first-round Class AAAA playoff game against Woodmont in a scoreless tie, Greenwood High School boys soccer coach George Sugden was confident after his team played what he called its best half of the season.
He knew it was only a matter of time before the Eagles took control.

Once the second half started, it didn’t take long.
Tyler Hedrick scored two goals in the first five minutes of the second 40 minutes, and three teammates followed suit as 11th-ranked Greenwood raced off with a 5-1 victory.
Greenwood will travel to No. 5 Dorman at 7 Thursday in the second round of the postseason.
