WARE SHOALS -- The Ware Shoals and McCormick High School football teams made a quick turnaround Friday night to impress in the Region 1-A jamboree at Ware Shoals, while Dixie and Calhoun Falls struggled.
Ware Shoals and McCormick played in the Greenwood jamboree Thursday. Ware Shoals tied Saluda 0-0 in 20 minutes, while McCormick was dusted off by Ninety Six 27-0. The teams fared much better Friday.
Ware Shoals ran away from Calhoun Falls 28-0, while McCormick blitzed Dixie 21-0 in one half of play.

“I felt like we were pretty business-like in our approach,” Ware Shoals coach Lance Abernathy said. “Our kids were ready to play tonight, and we were a little bit worried playing last night and going back to back. But, we were able to correct some mistakes from last night, but we made some more tonight.
“Overall, I thought our kids played hard, and we are pretty pleased.”
