Interim coach Bryan Buffkin was among three finalists announced Thursday for the head football coach position at McCormick High School.
Broome defensive coordinator Jonathan Dover and Kennesaw Mountain (Ga.) defensive coordinator Sean Thom are the other names being considered, according to a press release from the school.
McCormick athletic director Jimmy Hughes confirmed Thursday by phone the school plans to submit a name for approval March 10 at the next scheduled McCormick County Schools Board of Education meeting.

Buffkin was offensive coordinator for the Chiefs during their 2012 run to the Class A, Division II state championship game. He was elevated to the position of interim coach after former coach Brian Neal left in June 2013 to take the same position at Aiken.
Dover is defensive coordinator at Broome, which went 8-4 and won Region 3-AAA
last season. He also coaches soccer at the school.
