Ninety Six win against Abbeville will stand

No replay. Game over, with the homestanding Ninety Six High School softball team winning Wednesday's game 6-5 in 10 innings against Abbeville.
That's because, according to South Carolina High School League associate commissioner Dru Nix, a formal protest filed in the bottom of the fifth by Ninety Six coach Anarie Duckett was not processed correctly.
Nix, who oversees SCHSL softball, said the proper procedure was to process the protest before the next pitch after the alleged incident. And, Nix claimed that was not done.
If the protest had been approved, the two teams were to set another date and replay the game from the bottom of the fifth inning on. Immediately after Wednesday's games, Duckett and Abbeville coach Tim Collins appeared resigned to the fact the game would be replayed from that point.
However, it won't.
The rematch, though, between the teams is April 15 at Abbeville at 7.
