After a strong performance at the Upper State tournament last weekend, the Ninety Six High School wrestling team is in a position it has not been in before.
With five wrestlers competing in this weekend's individual state tournament at the Anderson Civic Center, one of the highest representatives per school, the Wildcats could compete for the traditional team title with another strong showing.

But Ninety Six coach Tripp Henderson is not too concerned with the team standings.
"That would be nice if they all do well," Henderson said. "I hope maybe we can get some wins, some good quality wins, but we're not really worried about the team thing. I just hope individually they can perform the best they can and have a good day.
"They've been wrestling well, so hopefully they can carry that over."
