After back-to-back losses third-round playoff losses to Dorman, the Greenwood High School girls basketball team entered this postseason hoping for another shot at redemption against the Cavaliers.
Now, the Eagles have it. And, this year, there's even more at stake.
Greenwood finally cleared the third-round hurdle Tuesday with a gritty 56-50 victory against Irmo. That win vaulted the Eagles to tonight, where they will travel to Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville for a Class AAAA Upper State finals matchup with Dorman.

Last year, Greenwood traveled to Roebuck to take on the Cavaliers in a third-round rematch. The Eagles led by 18 entering the fourth quarter, only to be outscored 30-10 in the final stanza to lose 59-57 and bow out in the third round for the third consecutive year.
But after the win Tuesday, they've got their shot at Dorman again, with a berth in the Class AAAA championship game on the line.
