Saluda High School boys golf coach Dean Roesner liked Wednesday's warmer weather.
At the Links at Stoney Point, he liked his team's play even better.
Will Sawyer and Alfher Segura led the Tigers with 1-over-par scores of 37 during nine holes - good for medalist honors - and Saluda won the tri-meet with Emerald and Greenwood. Roesner's team carded a 7-over 151. Tigers teammate Cooper Martin scored a 38, followed by Peyton Shore with a 39.
Emerald was second at 165, followed by Greenwood at 170.
"It was still a little cool (Wednesday), but it was one of the nicer days we've gotten to play in all season," Roesner said. "This season has been challenging, for the most part, as far as the weather."
Sawyer and Segura each carded eight pars and a bogey.
"It was just a pretty steady round," Sawyer said. "On No. 7, with the bogey, I messed up mentally around the green. I just couldn't get anything going, really. I wanted to play under par, but it didn't work out that way. I was conservative off the tees because it's a pretty short course. I'm not jumping for joy about my round, but I'm not mad."
