Police are looking for a man following a domestic violence incident Sunday morning, according to a news release from Laurens police Maj. Chrissie Cofield.

Antonio Marquise Hunter, 29, of 201 Garlington St., Laurens is wanted on charges of high and aggravated domestic violence, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, discharging a firearm in the city limits, and pointing and presenting a firearm.

Laurens police heard about a man shooting a gun Sunday morning on Fleming Street, and while driving there they were told the man was going to a Garlington Street residence, where he lived with the person he shot at, according to a report.

When officers arrived, they called for backup and found bullet casings, the report said. They saw a light turn off inside the apartment, the report said, and called the man -- but he hung up when officers identified themselves.

Officers called to the man using a patrol vehicle’s public address system, but couldn’t make contact with him. When officers got a warrant to search the apartment, they found no one inside and could not find the man nearby.

Anyone with information about Hunter’s whereabouts is urged to call Laurens County Crime Stoppers at 864-682-7463.
