HODGES -- Johnnie Marshall Shirley, 95, of Hodges, widower of Elma Ruth McKee Shirley died Friday, March 17, 2017 at NHC in Clinton.
Born in Hodges, October 5, 1921, he was a son of the late George D. and Emma Hodges Shirley. Mr. Shirley retired from Gus Carpenter Paving and Construction and attended Hodges Church of God.
Surviving are three sons, Raymond C. Shirley and wife Linda of Waterloo, Mike Shirley and wife Faith of Abbeville and Ray Shirley and wife Kathy of Hodges; one daughter, Gwen S. Reed of Williamston; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Shirley was predeceased by two daughters, Sara Ann Shirley and Johnnie Faye Shirley and a son, Claude Shirley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles Caldwell and Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Carl Shirley, Jason Shirley, Brian Shirley, Michael Shirley, Kevin Shirley, Brandon Reed, Benjie Shirley, Gary Shirley and Blane Shirley.
Honorary escort will be his great-grandchildren.
Family members are at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 4 Sunday afternoon.
