DECATUR, Ga. -- Mrs. Ruth Adams Freeman, widow of Lewis Freeman, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2017 in Decatur, GA. She was born in Old Newberry County, SC, on May 1, 1914, a daughter of the late Mr. Willie and Mrs. Lilly Adams. She had formerly attended the Ebenezer AME Church in McCormick, SC. After the death of her husband, she resided with her daughter in Decatur, GA.

She leaves to cherish fond memories two daughters, Ms. Eloise Sims and Ms. Eulette Polly; three sons James L. Rapily, John Wesley Wideman and Lewis (Nancy) Freeman, Jr.; one brother, Mr. Oasie Adams of McCormick, SC; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Bethany Baptist Church in Clarks Hill, SC, with Pastor Russell Brisco officiating. Interment is in the church cemetery. Condolences may be sent to Walker Services entrusted to Walker Funeral Home, McCormick, SC.
